Bridgwater and West Somerset Liberal Democrats announce local election candidates

Bridgwater and West Somerset Liberal Democrats have announced their candidates for the 2019 Sedgemoor District Council and Somerset West and Taunton Council elections.

At the last elections in 2015 the Liberal Democrats gained a Sedgemoor District Council seat in the Bridgwater and West Somerset constituency for the first time since 2000.

In West Somerset, the Liberal Democrats have won three by-elections since the start of 2017. The Liberal Democrat Group on West Somerset Council is now the largest it has ever been and the party is hoping for a strong showing at the West Somerset end of the new Somerset West and Taunton Council.

Across the Bridgwater and West Somerset constituency, the Liberal Democrats are fielding 26 candidates – the highest number for many years.
