Theo is standing for election here for the second time, he was the Liberal Democrat candidate in Bridgwater and West Somerset at the last General Election and finished a clear second behind Conservative MP Ian Liddell-Grainger and over 6,000 votes ahead of the third-placed Labour Party. As well as establishing the Liberal Democrats as the clear challenger to the Conservatives in this constituency, Theo got the largest increase in the Liberal Democrat vote in this constituency for 27 years.
Theo believes our area has not had the strong representation it needs in recent years. Theo believes that issues such as the current traffic problems facing Bridgwater and the recent public falling our between the West Somerset Council leadership and the incumbent MP could have been avoided if our area had had a different and better MP.
As a former Mayor, Theo is experienced at working across party boundaries. Theo is committed to being an MP who works together with local councils, councillors, residents and businesses across Bridgwater and West Somerset regardless of party interest.
